MEMBERSWBR, Salt Lake County Sheriff, Airmed Dispatch and deployment excersize
On Monday March 21 Airmed, WBR and the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office held a dispatch and deployment exercise in Big Cottonwood Canyon. A team from Airmed, WBR Brighton and the UAC traveled into the backcountry above Twin Lakes Reservoir and prepared a mock avalanche site, including buried transceivers, articles and a live victim. A 911 call was then placed reporting the incident. From that point on resources were deployed as if a real incident had occurred. Two Airmed helicopters responded with teams from Brighton, Solitude and Snowbird Resorts. Resources and personnel also participated from The Salt Lake Country Sheriff's Office, Unified Police Dept, Unified Fire Authority and Alta Central. This training focused on communications, dispatching and inter-agency responses from the beginning and reaffirmed that communication is the key to incident management
