Wasatch Backcountry Rescue Announces Winter Intern

Alpinist, climber, yoga enthusiast and Utah local Sarah McConkie has been welcomed to WBR as our winter intern.  Sarah comes to WBR after several years working with Backcountry.com and a student of the University of Utah Remote Rescue Program.  You are more likely to run into Sarah in the hills than in town.  Some of her favorite adventures include first ascents in Peru and Ecuador, working stints as Base Camp Manager on Denali, biking the Oregon Coast, and sea kayaking through Washington’s San Juan Islands.  Sarah is looking forward to her second spring season working and exploring Valdez, Alaska and her first fall season in Antarctica.  Sarah will figure out this descent concept eventually, and is learning to give into gravity one run at a time. The expertise and support at WBR is motivating and she is looking forward to expand on her ready skills.
